IMBILLS Practice Manager 1.3 Release
Documentation
The
following upgrades and improvements were released:
- An upgrade from the .Net 1.0 framework to .Net 2.0 was completed. This was part of a larger restructuring
of the system code. Some results of this upgrade will be enhanced
stability of the program and improved response times for several
functions in the short term. However, this fundamental change
also lays the foundation for future improvements in many other areas of
the system, including improvements in response time for additional
functions in the future, and moving the application closer to browser
independence. There may be a small number of minor cosmetic
side-effects as a result of this particular update, but they are not
expected to interfere with functionality, and will be addressed in
follow-up releases as they are identified.
- A
new Administrator Setting has been added to automatically clear the
Patient ID field during use of the patient look-up and transfer
features. This setting will make those functions more convenient
for practices using account numbers as patient IDs, by preventing
the accidental reuse of the ID from previous visits.
- The full/standard
screen size selector has been removed from the login page. The
application will now open in full screen mode automatically. This
will prevent the appearance of the browser's navigation buttons
("Back", "Next", etc.), which should never be used to navigate through
the system.
- Upon login, the
Practice Manager application will now open in the same window as the
login page (i.e. the login page will no longer remain open in a
separate window after the login is complete). That window will
still return to the login screen automatically when the user logs off
or the security timeout activates. This change helps to close a
security loophole in which windows that have been closed (in this case,
the application window showing patient health information) might be
accessed without authorization from pre-existing windows in a series
(the separate login window).
- The Site and Team
selection fields for the Current Patient List will now remain inactive
until the entire page has loaded. This will prevent their use before
the page has fully loaded, which previously resulted in unpredictable behavior.
- Various minor
cosmetic adjustments have also been made. Many of these involved
display issues related to the introduction of Internet Explorer 7.0,
and some were issues only visible when using large, high resolution
monitors.
Changes
to resolve the following issues were also included:
-
The "Remove to Bin" function did not always show all patients who had been discharged.
-
The Business Intelligence tab was not visible to users with the Medical Director user type.
- NP/PA user types could not bill for users with the Medical Director user type.
- Replies to chat messages did not always include the quoted message to which the reply pertained.
- Totals shown for columns in the Summary Report did not always match the actual total of the figures in the columns.
- The Summary Report showed different values in columns depending upon the user generating the report.
- The "99239 with
GA Medicaid" error was appearing on the Pre-Submission Billing Error
Report when a 99239 was entered, but the Medicaid recorded was not
Georgia Medicaid.
- The "Obs H&P with
Inpt D/C" error on the Pre-Submission Billing Error Report has been
expanded to include Obs H&P code 99220 in addition to 99218 and
99219.
- Copyright dates on printed reports were not current.
- System response slowed when displaying patients with a large number of bills (150+).
- The patient search function was searching the Archives, but not the Bin.
- The Current Patients list was not allowing navigation using the arrow keys.
- A null value in the DOB field sometimes resulted in a birth date of 1/1/1900 to show in the Demographics Tab.
- Multiple IMBILLS groups using the same
proxy server sometimes saw the name of another group (sharing their
proxy) on the login screen.
- The Microsoft Excel version of the
Census Report showed different totals from the HTML version when
constructed for a specific site.
- For clients using the ADT interface, information was not always populating in the Friend,
Guarantor and Insurance fields.
- On rare occasions, the drop down arrows
for the Site and Team selectors for the Patient List would appear
detached from their fields.
